Unlike other tropical fruits which have soft but consistent pulp, passion fruit has a pulp that is similary to a delicious jelly. Here's how to enjoy it without ruining the fruit:
Cut the fruit in half with a well-sharpened knife.
Use a spoon to extract the yellow pulp from the fruit.
Remove the white part, which has a bitter taste.
Enjoy the pulp in a bowl, or paired with unsweetened yoghurt.
Passion fruit, which is often enjoyed after meals on its own or with desserts, is often used as an ingredient in tropical cocktails or as an original garnish. It can even be used to season fish and seafood, or to town down the strong flavour of game meats.
Passiflora tea, which can be obtained by soaking the flowers and leaves of the plants, helps relieve stress and helps with concentration.
